GEOTEC

Tunable capacitor for optical communication applications

GEOTEC (GErmanium Optical Tunable Excited Capacitor) is a MOS photodetector designed for high-speed (up to 111 GHz) optoelectronic and optical communication applications in the NIR range. The device, which consists of an SiO2 layer with embedded germanium nanocrystals on a silicon substrate, can also function as a tunable capacitor, memory unit, or Boolean element.
